Data Quality remains the big issue

Postby ian » Fri Jan 17, 2014 12:50 pm

Migrating data from one system to another is first and foremost a test of data quality. The technology for transformation of data should not the focus, the tools for data validation is what you must examine.

Data has a remarkably long life so the quality issues may remain from when the data was first captured and this may not be the system that you regard as the source for this data migration project but an earlier system. A good illustration of the remarkable longevity of data can be found by looking at your own email inbox. As marketing emails arrive ask yourself how long ago your email and interest in some package was captured.

DataSlave has more than 130 Validation functions. However we want to hear what is missing so email us at support or post a request on our forum and tell us what you need. We really are interested in your requirements.

If you have a project under consideration please talk to us and we will help you plan the data migration (data import and data export). We have a depth of experience available for you to access.
