Allow Transform output to go to multiple transform inputs

Postby flxkid » Fri Nov 25, 2005 7:47 pm

I am using a transform to add a column with an increment id. This id needs to be push into a parent row and child rows that I'm breaking out from an unnormalized source record. So I have a transform to add the id column and then like 8 more transforms after that.

To make this work I put an empty validate in between the transform that adds the column and the rest of the transforms simply because a validate allows you to connect to multiple transforms. Not really a big thing, but it would be nice to just connect a transform output to multiple transform inputs.

Hi,

The reason the transform output is limited to one target function is because the transform function can obtain the schema from the following function (if an output function).

What we could do is allow multiple linking, but search all linked outputs and obtain the schema from the first output function linked to? How does this sound?
