Transform Path Branching

Postby flxkid » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:02 pm

I think it would be very useful to have another type of IF function that doesn't return a value, but executes a one of multiple paths within a transform. For instance, right now I have to do a bit of different work depending on whether my map is looking at a database record that is a janitor or a carpet cleaner. But 95% of the work is identical.

It would be really neat if there was another \"if\" where I could say \"if occupation = 'Janitor'\" and have connected to that multiple paths to execute. The I Could have an else if occupation = 'Carpet Cleaner' and have others paths connected for things to execute.

I hope this makes sense. I hope I haven't just completely missed this already present function (I'd feel really dumb methinks...)

We will look at this. It seems an good idea, but we need to consider the issues. Thanks.

Something like a 'Case' construction?

Case A --> do this
Case B --> go there
Case C --> consider that
