Reading in data from Outlook

Postby ian » Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:02 am

Data in Outlook can be accessed using the Read OLE DB function. The connection string is different for Outlook Personal Folders and an Exchange mailbox.

Personal Folder:

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Outlook 9.0;MAPILEVEL=Personal Folders|;PROFILE=OUTLOOK;TABLETYPE=0;DATABASE=C:\\temp

Where “Personal Folders” is replaced by the name of the folder in outlook if different

Exchange Mailbox:

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Outlook 9.0;MAPILEVEL= Mailbox - James Smith|;PROFILE=MS Exchange Settings;TABLETYPE=0;DATABASE=C:\\temp

Where \"James Smith\" is replaced by the appropriate mailbox name.

The next stage of the Read OLE DB wizard will list the Outlook folders. Select the appropriate one and continue.
